About Joan:

Joan Stevens, aka Mamabotanica, is a botanist/ethnobotanist, master gardener, and permaculture instructor who loves introducing people to the world of plants. She has been professor at Pasadena City and has been running a backyard flower farm since 2018. Joan uses humor and decades of experience to help you learn and grow with your garden. She is a plant person through and through and believes strongly that partnering with plants is a sound strategy for creating a resilient future for all the inhabitants of the planet.
